Reports To:     DIRECTOR, SALES SUPPORT & FULFILLMENT

Location:         CORPORATE, IRVINE CA                                    

Department:    BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT SEGMENT                 


 

SUMMARY

Manages the Inside Sales department to ensure timely and complete responses on all RFQ’s, project tenders, customer inquiries and general support required by the Business Development department. Works with the Business Development department to administer and support all sales and market development efforts.   This role will be responsible for working with Fulfillment Management, Commercial Analytics, Finance, Business Development, Operations, Engineering, Field Service, and product development teams.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the Inside Sales department to meet its responsibilities to thoroughly understand and respond to customer requirements through clear, consistent, complete, accurate, and timely quotations and formal proposals. 
  • Manage the Inside Sales department to meet its responsibilities to receive purchase orders and process Sales Orders that match quotations and proposals.
  • Manage the Inside Sales department to meet its responsibilities to provide clear, consistent, complete, and accurate communications to Fulfillment Management, Commercial Analytics, Finance, Business Development, Operations, and other appropriate company departments to support their activities to successfully meet customer and company requirements.
  • Ensure Inside Sales team members have necessary training and tools to meet the department’s responsibilities.
  • Provide oversight and direction for department responses to customer and internal department inquiries.
  • Provide oversight and direction for all quotations and related activities.
  • Provide direction for responses to customer and Business Development team inquiries.
  • Provide oversight on all RFQ’s, quotations, and formal proposals.
  • Lead creation of bid submission packages and responses to requests for information.
  • Develop pricing, price lists and pricing tools within guidelines to support revenue targets.
  • Support, implement and administer pricing according to approved company guidelines.
  • Develop and facilitate new/improved processes, tools, communication and training to ensure success across teams.
  • Collaborate with Fulfillment Management, Commercial Analytics, Finance, Operations, Engineering, Product Management, Marketing, Field Service, and other groups to facilitate new programs, processes and product offerings.
  • Provide reports and communication on relevant metrics including quotations, sales, pricing, and opportunities for improved sales support, among other topics.
  • Support customer satisfaction program as needed.
  • Develop and maintain sales and business development resources (library).
  • Administer and provide training for the CRM system.
  • Other duties as assigned.

     

Qualifications

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or Marketing preferred.
  • 10+ years of supporting/managing inside sales, marketing, customer service, or similar activities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Well-organized and able to perform multiple tasks to meet multiple deadlines.
  • International business experience preferred.
  • Experience with a technology company preferred.
  • Ability to liaise with executive management.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft products including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
  • Self-starter; aggressive with high energy level.
  • Ability to collaborate across functions to gain consensus on pricing/customer service strategy and implementation.
  • Ability to integrate company strategies and objectives.
  • Ability to see big picture while effectively managing details.
  • Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, fun, and demanding environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership over increasingly larger projects.
