SUMMARY OF POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: A Front Desk Armed Security Guard Receptionist combines the duties of a security guard and a receptionist, ensuring both the safety of the premises and providing front desk administrative support. The role requires handling visitor management, monitoring security, and being ready to respond to security incidents while maintaining a professional and welcoming environment. The position is armed, meaning that the guard must be prepared to use a firearm if necessary for protection.
The Front Desk Armed Security Guard Receptionist is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the building while providing administrative and customer service duties at the front desk. This position requires a balance of excellent security awareness and strong customer service skills. The guard is armed and expected to respond to threats or emergencies, while also performing receptionist duties such as greeting visitors, answering phones, and managing access to the premises.
SCHEDULED DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Access Control: Monitor and control the entry and exit of visitors, employees, and deliveries by checking identification and issuing visitor passes.

Armed Security: Maintain a high level of vigilance, ensure the safety of occupants, and be prepared to use a firearm or other defensive measures if necessary.

Surveillance Monitoring: Operate security cameras, monitor alarms, and detect any suspicious activities in and around the facility.

Patrol Duties: Conduct periodic patrols of the premises to ensure security and report any incidents.

Visitor Reception: Greet visitors, answer inquiries, provide directions, and assist with the check-in process while maintaining a professional demeanor.

Emergency Response: Respond to alarms, security breaches, and emergency situations, such as fire or medical incidents, by following established protocols and coordinating with law enforcement or emergency responders.

Administrative Duties: Answer phone calls, handle incoming mail, manage visitor logs, and assist with other clerical tasks as needed.

Communication: Coordinate with building management, law enforcement, or emergency services when necessary and report any incidents to supervisors.

Enforce Rules and Regulations: Ensure compliance with building policies, safety regulations, and security protocols.

Safety Officer Responsibilities: Assume the role of safety officer in the absence of the Special Police Chief and perform safety officer responsibilities as assigned.
UNSCHEDULED DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prioritize fulfillment of emergent needs of the organization as it relates to staffing, CEO initiatives and HR compliance.

In collaboration with the CEO, spearhead the fulfillment of any non payroll related HR related inquiries from external agencies.

Consult with the CEO and executive team regularly to implement improvements within your scope on a continuous basis.

Works with other department / division heads to monitor the financial activities each department and make recommendations.

Participate in external and internal audits/surveys (CARF/CSA/OHCQ) as directed by the supervisor.

Participates in quality assurance and performance improvement plans by completing periodic audits or other activities to ensure regulatory compliance and/or improve service delivery.

Assist the supervisor with any work-related tasks as requested.

Collaborate with and serve as program POC for external treatment providers and outside agencies as needed.

Responsible for following regulations of COMAR, CARF, any other regulatory body, and company policies/ procedures related to service delivery and documentation and co-facilitating orientation of all new hires to these as well.

Support the maintenance of a safe environment by participating in training and drills as requested.
