Overview:

The Portfolio Manager is to oversee and coordinate all operational and administrative aspects of the lending function within a defined market area. The position will assist Market Presidents and Relationship Managers with the gathering of financial data, analyzing the data, preparing status reports, working past dues and matured loans, and servicing the loan portfolio. The Portfolio Manager will also work to insure loans are closed as approved, with complete documentation, and in compliance with all applicable regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist RMs and MP with new loan request, include building loan wall in LOS, gathering and loading financials into LOS, spreading financials and/or completing a GCF worksheet and preparing credit memo
  • Manage Maturing Loans includes processing ARs, Streamline and Traditional Renewals
  • Processing includes gathering financials, processing application, building loan in LOS, completing underwriting, complete brief credit memo, recommend for approval, and working with LA and Processor to get documents ready for closing
  • Manage Loan Portfolio so there are zero past due matured loans or payments over 30 days
  • Review and work with RMs and MP on Past Due reports; Includes researching loan for accuracy of past due status and processing any loan maintenance and auto debit documents as needed
  • Working with RMs and MP to collect past due payments
  • Client Service of Loan Portfolio including processing loan payment research, loan maintenance and working with clients to resolve questions regarding loan history
  • Attend Pipeline Meetings and report on any renewals in process
  • Set clients up on auto debit as part of pre or post-closing
  • Pull Credit Reports
  • Special Projects related to the loan portfolio
  • Actively manage and maintain construction portfolio to include/but not limited to:
    • Create Builder Construction Loans in LOS (Baker Hill)
    • Gather documentation needed to submit loan for approval
    • Order 3rd party services as needed
    • Work with Processor to get documents ready for completion
  • Process and complete builder construction draw request to include ordering inspections, maintaining construction budget and funding draw and seek approvals as needed

Key Results Areas:

  • Address maturing loans 30 days prior to maturity and track renewal for booking to be sure matured status is not reached nor carried over 30 days at month end
  • Zero past dues on matured loan payments
  • Timely and satisfactory resolution of questions regarding loan history
  • Accurate research and production of credit memo for new loan requests

Qualifications

Experience & Education:

2-3 years of commercial account relationship or commercial credit underwriting and risk management experience. A bachelors degree in business, finance, or other related discipline or commensurate experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Familiarity with loan structuring underwriting programs. Knowledge of consumer, commercial and real estate loans, regulations, procedures, and documentation preparation. Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and CRM applications. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, reliable, and analytical. They will also have the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines, work in fast-paced environment, and timely and satisfactory resolution regarding loan portfolio challenges.

Other Requirements:

Satisfactorily complete all required compliance training and compliance with all laws and regulations that apply based on the scope of this position.

Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization, generally regarding routine matters for purposes of giving and obtaining information, as well as advising or referring, which commonly require shorter discussions.

Physical Requirements:

Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs. Must be capable of climbing/descending stairs in an emergency. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on a computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance.

Working Conditions:

Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work environment with moderate noise.

Mental and/or Emotional Requirements:

Must be able to perform job functions independently and with limited supervision. Must work effectively as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be able to perform basic financial calculations with accuracy. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under stress of deadline, requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on confidential matters.
