Description

The Inventory Count Specialist is responsible for ensuring the system valuation of the chains inventory is accurate. They visit each store in their territory to assist their team in managing the process of counting and verifying the physical inventory in that location. Their main duties include setting up the count procedure in the system, dissecting the store for easier count management, managing the workflow and assisting the store personnel during the counting process, troubleshooting issues with the count and equipment and recounting any and all items with a variance that necessitates further verification. Significant travel may be necessary and varies by region.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Including, but not limited to, the following:
1. Know and actively demonstrate, daily, our Company Mission Statement and Core Values.
2. Respond to emails and phone calls as required.
3. Ability to use or learn Excel, as well as operate the RF guns and the Telnet system.
4. Perform any job duties when needed or required by the job as assigned by their supervisor.
5. Properly use and maintain computers and RF guns as needed to count and record the inventory quantities counted..
6. Maintain a favorable working relationship with all employees to promote a cooperative and harmonious working environment in order to facilitate positive employee morale, productivity, and continued improvement. TEAM, TEAM, TEAM
7. Review and verify accuracy of all receiving paperwork or Troubled Invoices sent to AP.
8. Limit use of personal cell phone to work related activities while on task.
9. Carry out directives of Inventory Team Lead efficiently and allow for flexibility of directives.
10. Fulfill responsibilities with care and attention to detail.
11. Practice teamwork and cooperation with others.
12. Possess time management skills and arrive to the work site on time.
13. Ability to manage stress in a fast-paced environment.
14. Walk, stand, and bend, regularly. Use of arms, hands, and fingers to feel, handle, reach, and lift. Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds or more occasionally using proper lifting techniques and tools. Push and/or pull 50-100 pounds or more occasionally. Communicate with and understand team members and guests. Able to see, both up close and at a distance, all aspects of the business operation.
15. Work in accordance with all safety regulations of Specs Family Partners and OSHA.
16. Other projects and tasks assigned by their supervisor.
17. Attendance, timeliness, and adherence to the schedule are required. It is hard to count a stores inventory from home.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty listed above satisfactorily. State law says you must be over the age of 21 to work at Spec's. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. In other words, here's the technical stuff.


Education or Experience
High School Diploma is required and a Bachelors or Associates Degree is a plus or previous experience on inventory count teams. Sometimes, experience is the best education.


Language Skills
We need you to be able to read, analyze, and interpret, general business information from emails, and wine and spirit labels in multiple languages. This doesnt require multi-lingual skills, only the ability to distinguish the difference in two labels in a foreign language. You will have the opportunity to learn some of many languages as a result of experience and attention to detail.


Mathematical Skills
You need the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide and to use the RF guns and other technology to capture an accurate store count. Analytical and problem-solving skills are critical while performing recounts to pinpoint inaccuracies.

This job starts early so the count team members will have the opportunity to possibly see each other early, often. A team player is an absolute must.


Hours
This position starts early. Most days start at 4:00 A.M. but can require an earlier start on occasion based on the store or its location. Some stores are out of market and require overnight travel. In either instance, this position requires reliable transportation and able to travel occasionally. Larger stores may require the count to be performed on a weekend. This happens approximately 8 times per year. While there is an early start to these counts, most are done by 2:00 P.M. Some jobs may take longer to properly complete. If there is any questions, the Inventory Count Team Lead will dismiss the team when the count is done.


Reasoning Ability
The Inventory Count Teams are responsible for counting everything in the stores that has a retail value.
It is a responsibility critical to the financial well-being of the entire company. There are a large variety of products that must be chronicled. Any variances must be inspected. A curious attitude is helpful to learn all of the active products for faster counts and when tracking down items with variances. Using logic and reasoning to find missing items or reconcile differences in system quantities.


Certificates, Licenses
You must maintain a valid TABC Beverage Sellers Permit, and in some cases, a valid Food Handlers or Food Managers Permit.
