POSITION SUMMARY:

The assistant women’s basketball coach will be responsible for assisting in the planning, developing, and coaching the women’s basketball program within GLVC and NCAA rules and regulations.  The assistant women’s basketball coach will be responsible for assisting in the recruitment, retention, and development of student-athletes while also supporting a culture that offers a positive NCAA Division II student-athlete experience.

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Help field a highly competitive program in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, the Midwest Region and nationally
  • Help to plan, organize, direct, and lead the operations for the women’s basketball program; including budgeting, scheduling, game preparation, and all on the court coaching, and off the court development.
  • Recruit academically and athletically qualified student-athletes
  • Plan and implement instructional practices that maximize the talent and potential of student-athletes, while instilling values such as sportsmanship, leadership, and personal wellness, under the direction of the head coach.
  • Demonstrate the ability to relate to, and motivate, student-athletes and to work with a variety of university staff, alumni, and the outside community.
  • Adhere to institutional, GLVC, and NCAA compliance requirements.
  • Commitment to continuous learning, growth, and professional development.
  • Promote the mission and values of the Athletic Department and Rockhurst University
  • Must have excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 2+ years coaching
