POSITION SUMMARY:

The assistant track and field coach will be responsible for assisting with all aspects of the track and field team.

This is a part-time, 10 month position. This position has dual reporting to both the Head Cross Country Coach and the Head Track and Field Coach.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Assistant Track and Field Coach

Day to Day coaching (practice, meets, travel)

  • Assist with planning and organizing the track and field program, including scheduling and coaching.
  • Help the head coach recruit academically and athletically qualified student-athletes.
  • Plan and implement instructional practices that maximize the talent and potential of student-athletes, while instilling values such as, sportsmanship, leadership, and personal wellness.
  • Demonstrate the ability to relate to, and motivate, student-athletes and to work with a variety of university staff, alumni, and the outside community.
  • Commitment to compliance and knowledge of NCAA and GLVC rules.
  • Promote the mission of the Athletic Department and Rockhurst University
  • Knowledge of sprints/jumps/multi experience preferred.
  • Must have excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 2+ years coaching experience.
