Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Athletic Trainer to join our outpatient clinic, specializing in an industrial setting. The Athletic Trainer will work with a diverse patient population, primarily focusing on injury prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation for employees in industrial and occupational environments. This role requires collaboration with healthcare professionals, employers, and patients to promote workplace wellness, reduce injury risks, and facilitate safe return-to-work programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Injury Prevention: Design and implement workplace injury prevention programs, including ergonomic assessments, stretching routines, and employee education on proper body mechanics.
  • Injury Assessment and Management: Evaluate acute and chronic injuries, provide immediate care, and develop individualized treatment plans for industrial workers.
  • Rehabilitation: Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and modalities to restore function and support recovery from musculoskeletal injuries.
  • Return-to-Work Planning: Collaborate with employers, physical therapists, and occupational health teams to create safe and effective return-to-work protocols.
  • Workplace Wellness: Conduct health and wellness workshops, promoting physical fitness, injury prevention, and healthy lifestyle choices for employees.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate patient records, including injury reports, treatment plans, and progress notes, in compliance with clinic and regulatory standards.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, physical therapists, and occupational health specialists to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to OSHA guidelines and other workplace safety regulations during assessments and interventions.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Athletic Training from an accredited program.
  • Certification: Current certification by the Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer (BOC) and state licensure as an Athletic Trainer.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Athletic Trainer, preferably in an industrial, occupational, or outpatient clinical setting.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, assisting patients, and demonstrating exercises.

Preferred: Experience with industrial or occupational health programs and familiarity with workers’ compensation processes.

 

Skills:

Strong knowledge of musculoskeletal injuries, rehabilitation techniques, and injury prevention strategies.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to educate and motivate patients and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.

Proficiency in ergonomic assessments and workplace safety protocols.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple patients in a fast-paced environment.

Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, with occasional early morning or evening hours to accommodate workplace schedules.

Travel: May require occasional visits to industrial worksites for assessments or training.
