Description

Bullis School seeks a Technology Systems Specialist to join a collaborative department. The Technology Systems Specialist works to support the School’s program by providing a wide range of technology support across all divisions of the school, including maintaining, troubleshooting, and installing hardware/software and audio-visual assets. Additionally, this position provides technical assistance and support to students and employees related to computer systems, hardware, and software. The position also provides support at the help desk as needed, helps maintain and manage inventory (checkouts and ins), and assists the network administrator with wired and wireless network maintenance and legacy phone systems.

Duties & Qualifications

Essential Functions:

 

  • Performs maintenance and troubleshooting on desktop, laptop, and tablet assets

  • Develops and maintains a working relationship with operational and instructional staff and educates end users in using technology

  • Installs and maintains various technology and network resources in the school classrooms, computer labs, and conferencing areas.

  • Assists with audio/visual support for campus events

  • Assists the department with inventories and records of the school software purchases and licensing keys

  • Stays current with new software and hardware offerings

  • Seeks out further education by attending seminar’s classroom-online education and trade materials

  • Other tasks as assigned by the Director of Technology

Physical Requirements:

 

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

  • Climbing a ladder to install technical equipment

  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodation

 

Education and Experience:

 

Required

  • Working knowledge of major educational technology tools

  • Working knowledge of Google Workspace systems

  • Proficient in all Microsoft Windows operating systems

  • Proficient in all Apple OS operating systems

  • A demonstrated knowledge or ability to learn network operations and maintenance

  • Experience with phone systems, printers, and projectors

 

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred

  • Experience in independent schools a plus
