Seeking restaurant and banquet bartenders that are guest service professionals to join our restaurant team. Ideal candidates must be friendly, positive, energetic, highly motivated individuals who will thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented restaurant/golf course environment. Under the direct supervision of the Food and Beverage Manager, bartenders are responsible for providing a guest service driven, safe experience for all patrons of The Greg Mastriona Golf Courses at Hyland Hills. Peak season includes long hours, weekends, and holidays.

JOB FUNCTION
- Takes orders and serves patrons food and beverages in a positive and friendly manner.
- Prepares and maintains ingredients by following recipes.
- Adheres to proper alcohol handling, sanitation, and safety procedures, and maintains appropriate dating, labeling, and rotation of all beverage items.
- Coordinates daily supply inventory for bar and submits orders to supervisor; assists with receipt of deliveries.
- Responsible for stocking beverage shelves, manage inventory, rotate stock as needed.
- Contributes to daily, holiday, and theme drink menus in collaboration with management team.
- Ensures smooth operation of bar services during absence of supervisor.
- Maintains a sanitary bar area and completes cleaning according to daily and weekly schedules, including dishwashing as needed.
- Assists with orienting new employees to their work area.
- Listens to customer complaints and suggestions and resolves complaints.
- Communicates with management team on any issues, mistakes, or any reason for an unsatisfactory experience for patrons.
- Instructs personnel in use of new equipment and cleaning methods and provides efficient and effective methods of maintaining work area.
- Participates in and/or contributes to programs, committees, or projects designed to improve quality of service and employee productivity.
- Helps patrons select food and beverages by providing information, suggesting courses, explaining the chef’s specialties, identifying appropriate beverage pairings, and answering food preparation questions.
- Collaborate with coworkers and participate in all daily opening, closing, assigned side work and cleaning projects.
- Keeps kitchen staff informed of any dietary, allergy or special requests of patrons
- Upholds guest service standards throughout the patrons dining experience from start to finish to provide the best experience possible.
- Maintains order and accuracy in all aspects of receiving payment from patrons to cash out procedures at end of the shift.
- Actively works with coworkers as a team. Willingness to assist others without being asked.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Must be 21 years old (for alcohol service).
- Knowledge of food and retail sales.
- Knowledge of alcohol service laws and district policies.
- Must complete approved alcohol service training (TIPS) within 30 days of employment.
- Knowledge of computers and Point of Sales programs; must also be able to process and balance daily receipts. Good math skills helpful.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with management team, kitchen staff, support staff, golf course staff and guests.
- Must be able to perform multiple tasks with many interruptions.
- Must be able to work with little to no supervision and be enthusiastic, self-motivated and a team player.
- Must be able to provide excellent customer service.
- Must be able to maintain company attire, grooming and hygiene standards.

Working Environment/Physical Activities:
- Must be able to perform a varied work schedule: mornings, nights, weekends and holidays are required.
- Stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Work in different outdoor temperatures, extreme heat & cold.
- Occasionally exposed to slippery floor conditions and smell unusual odors generated by malfunctioning equipment or chemical reactions.
- May work near moving mechanical parts.
- Subject to surprise inventory and cash audits.
- Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Summer season includes long hours, weekends and holidays.

Education/Experience:
Graduation from High School or equivalent, plus at least one (1) year of bartending experience. Must have completed or be able to complete alcohol service training.
