Job Title: Senior Data Science Developer

Compensation: $108,181.00 - $115,860.00 per year

Location: 11818 I Street, Omaha, NE 68137 (may telecommute from within commuting distance of worksite)

The job:

The Senior Data Science Developer will implement turnkey solutions to unique software challenges faced by the data science/engineering team. They will also get to design and implement software solutions to get Buildertrend closer to its goals based on current available data and tech infrastructure, essentially acting like a software engineer for applied data science. They will collaborate with highly functional teams made of Data Engineers, Analysis and Leaders to strategize technical solutions for the business. They will collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams to solve problems, create operational efficiencies, and deliver successfully against high organizational standards. They will have leadership for our team of data scientists/analysts and play an integral role in strategic decision-making.

What you will do:

• Collaborate with leaders at the company to identify challenges that could be solved with existing tools and tech resources.
• Build custom scripts/tools to turn existing data and capabilities into a solution that helps the company move the needle towards its goals.
• Collaborate with various analysts, statisticians, researchers to find clever solutions in an emerging field with no precedent.
• Assist with project deliverables and project QA (Question/Answer).
• Collaborate with team members with career and skill development.
• Collaborate with other managers to foster Buildertrend culture and core values.
• Communicate with BT leadership to define and implement strategic vision.

Who you are and what you need:

• A bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent accepted) in computer science or a related field.
• 4 years of work experience in software engineering and/or program analysis.
• Experience with C#; Python; SQL; Scripting (Bash/Powershell); Git; TFS; SaaS software; Software Architecture and Design; Software Testing; and LateX Documentation.
• Experience with developing Machine Learning pipelines or Applied Machine Learning.
• Experience with SAAS (Software as a Service) architecture, Cloud platforms, highly scalable software.
• Provide strong interpersonal skills is invaluable since this role deals with managing various stakeholders, leaders and company goals with technical limitations and expectations.
• Understand statistics and research methodologies would help collaboration with in-house research teams that work closely with this role.
• Demonstrate extensive experience with Business Intelligence tooling.
• Demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills with an emphasis on product and team development.
• Ability to work with unforeseen challenges and taking ownership of work requiring minimal managerial oversight is a must in R&D based roles like this.
