Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The receptionist is responsible for handling all administrative functions for both the public and the clinic staff. This includes patient registration, communications regarding benefits, and payment processing. The preferred applicant would have RPMS system experience or the willingness to learn how to use this application and any other applications pertaining to the registration of patients immediately. The receptionist is also responsible for scheduling, monitoring appointments, managing missed appointments and dealing with/documenting patient issues. While this position is entry level, the right person will have the potential to utilize opportunities for long term employment with our facilities. Most important, we are looking for a team player.
Knowledge and Skills
- Must be able to exercise and use good judgment.
- Excellent communications skills that include professionalism, courtesy and accurate message-taking both by phone and computer.
- Knowledge of all office procedures.
- Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus.
- General understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance carries and general healthcare billing guidelines.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Certification in office/medical administration (preferred)
- Prior experience in a medical office (preferred)
Working Conditions
LRCHC has ADA compliant facilities. The position requires the ability to sit for long periods of time. May require lifting of 15 – 50 lbs. Must be proficient with computers and willing to learn new software applications. May be required to drive to other clinic (Keller) on occasion.
LRCHC employees are required to continually update CPR/BLS training, HIPAA Training, and all other trainings that pertain to the receptionist position.
A background clearance is required.
