Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Convert medication orders into typed prescription labels by utilizing the computer equipment provided. This includes collecting data and producing patient care information.
- Maintenance of records including drug inventory.
- Stock shelves.
- Compute drug costs and charges.
- Assist in updating/providing pharmacy billing information.
- Collect patient payments, including required co-payments.
- Order medication and maintain Parr levels.
- Participate in team building and conflict resolution exercises.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Working knowledge of general administrative practices.
- Demonstration of an excellent record of positive peer/client relationships which include superb customer skills.
- Ability to maintain records, do drug inventory, stock shelves.
- Ability to compute drug costs and patient charges.
- Provision of assistance with pharmacy billing, both with patients and the Billing Department.
- Must have EXCELLENT knowledge of proper English usage, grammar, spelling, and punctuation to prepare and provide professional correspondence as well as write and edit report text.
- Requires sufficient human relations skills to work productively and cooperatively with other work teams, exercise patience when dealing with internal and external customers and convey technical concepts.
- Must be able to handle a large volume of work in what can be (on occasion) considered a very stressful environment.
Education, Licenses, Certification and Experience
- High School Diploma / GED (required)
- WA State Pharmacy Assistant license (required)
- One (1) year Pharmacy Assistant experience (preferred)
A valid Washington State driver's license is required and must be eligible for the Colville Tribes vehicle insurance and maintained throughout employment.
Basic Life Support, HIPAA and Privacy Act training certification is required within 90 days of hire.
A background check will be required with clearance maintained throughout employment and no felony convictions.
Tribal member, Indian and Veteran preference will apply.
Working Conditions
LRCHC has ADA compliant facilities. The position requires the ability to sit and work on a computer for long periods of time. May require lifting of 15 – 50 lbs.
