Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
- A working knowledge of regular financial practices including reconciliations, forecasting, AP, AR, deposits, journal entries and other general ledger/financial duties.
- Works with management team to create a balanced annual budget, present the budget to the Board of Directors and assure that the budget is monitored and modified as needed throughout the fiscal year.
- Work directly with financial institutions, insurance service providers and contractual parties.
- Prepare and present Financial Statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other applicable guidelines.
- Experience with procurement and contracting.
- Primary contact in working with all auditors and other financial / compliance reviewers.
- Recommend benchmarks that will be used to measure the company’s performance.
- Provides financial analysis, with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
- Files all monthly, quarterly, annual reports as requires in a timely manner.
- Ensures compliance with tribal, local, state, and federal government requirements.
- Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
- Education, Licenses, Certification and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (required) or master’s degree (preferred) in accounting, finance or
- business administration.
- 3 – 5 years supervisory experience as a Controller, Finance Officer or other relevant role.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)(preferred.
- Any combination of education and experience that provides the applicant with the desired skills, knowledge, and ability required to perform the job duties as required.
A valid Washington State driver's license is required and must be eligible for the Colville Tribes vehicle insurance and maintained throughout employment.
Basic Life Support, HIPAA and Privacy Act training certification is required within 90 days of hire.
A background check will be required with clearance maintained throughout employment.
Three (3) work related references MUST be provided.
Tribal member and Indian and veteran preference will apply.
Working Conditions
LRCHC has ADA compliant facilities. The position requires the ability to sit and work on a computer for long periods of time. May require lifting of 15 – 50 lbs.
