REPORTS TO: EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF ADMISSION
STATUS: FULL-TIME, EXEMPT, SALARIED
Lake Erie College, a small, co-educational, four-year, independent liberal arts college located in Painesville, OH, 30 miles east of Cleveland, invites applications for the full-time position of admission counselor.
The admissions counselor will be responsible for aspects of the recruiting and enrollment process for incoming students, including identifying and maintaining communication with prospective students and enrolling students from a geographic recruiting territory. The admissions counselor will also assist in the effective management of the Admissions Office and must also establish and maintain strong communication channels and effective relationships with the faculty and administrative staff.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reports to the Executive Director of Admissions to develop and implement effective recruitment and marketing programs and materials to meet enrollment goals.
- Manages operational aspects of the admissions process for freshmen and transfer admits.
- Assists prospective students by providing counseling on admission requirements.
- Visits high schools and college fairs for recruiting purposes and advises prospective students on the application process and policies.
- Updates and maintains the inquiry database, as applicable.
- Follows up on contacts provided by the College, tracks applicants through the enrollment process, and serves as the contact and resource person for all admitted students from their territory.
- Conducts admission interviews, post-secondary information sessions, and presentations for applicants.
- Participates in and helps coordinate all College recruitment events.
- Works a flexible schedule, with weekend and evening hours required.
- Provides guidance to prospective students via oral and written communication.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Admissions.
