JOB SUMMARY:

 

The Production Director oversees the production team and our audio, visual, and lighting systems. Based on the vision set by Chase Oaks Church leadership, the Production Director implements that vision in how we use our AVL systems and the experiences those systems create. The Production Director is a key conduit between the larger staff and production team, working to ensure we have great equipment that creates great experiences across all our campuses, ministries, and facilities.

 

 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Lead production team staff, fostering a healthy and collaborative environment within it, and facilitating excellent communication between production and the rest of staff.
  • Implement the vision set by the Directional and Endear Strategic Teams, including our approach to weekend services, through the way Chase Oaks’ utilizes its audio, video, and lighting systems (and the experiences these systems provide). Based on this vision, give direction, assign responsibilities, set priorities, and receive and pass along feedback to production team specialists on a weekly basis.
  • Ensure Chase Oaks Church’s AVL equipment across campuses and buildings is ready and able to operate at a high level, overseeing weekly maintenance, installations, and production team’s response to support requests from different ministries.
  • Manage production event support requests (ministry events, outside events, funerals, weddings) by reviewing them, determining level of support, providing a timely quote, and coordinating appropriate support.
  • Manage inventory, budget, and purchase all technical production assets across Chase Oaks Church.
  • Create and maintain a clear system for onboarding, training, and caring for production team volunteers across all campuses.
  • Design and integrate audio, visual, lighting, and production IT systems across all Chase Oaks facilities. For audio, coordinate on new sound equipment with Music Producer and Worship Pastor, who set the levels for Chase Oaks sound boards.

 

 

 

JOB PROFILE:

SPECIFIC SKILLS / STRENGTHS

  • Strong organizational and communication skills with a high attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Strong leadership skills: ability to understand the vision set by leadership and collaborate with tech specialists in order to execute that vision, particularly for weekend services.
  • Significant experience and wisdom in how to multi-task, set priorities for a larger team, and see projects through to completion.
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently in carrying out assignments to completion
  • Strong working knowledge of live and broadcast audio infrastructure, interfacing, and concepts at a high level (ex. DiGiCo, AVID, ProTools, Dante, Adobe Premiere, MADI)
  • Strong working knowledge of broadcast video infrastructure, interfacing, and concepts at a high level (ex. SMPTE 2110, SDI, HD SDI, Ross Video, Grass Valley)
  • Strong working knowledge of theatrical lighting infrastructure, interfacing, and concepts utilizing DMX based infrastructure at a high level (ex. Art Net, DMX, KlingNet, Jands Vista)
  • Strong working knowledge of private networking for signal and data transport
  • Strong working knowledge of ProPresenter.
  • Strong working knowledge of setup, install, and management of Windows/MacOS operating systems and the hardware associated
  • Ability to organize and manage tech requests, maintenance schedules, and production team in a healthy and effective manner.

 

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE DESIRED

  • Vocational/college degree in a technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3+ years of technical experience working in AVL or other relevant field (preferably in a church or worship environment)
  • CTS or other AV Industry certifications desired but not required

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This is the lead role of the Production Team, and this role will supervise a team of full-time Production Specialists 

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to speak effectively and understandably on the phone. The ability to effectively present information and respond to common inquiries regarding the Chase Oaks technical environment is also required.
  • Must have excellent communication/customer service skills and be able to interface with the Chase Oaks Staff, guests, and members.

 

COMPUTER SKILLS

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook calendaring, and email
  • Basic knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
  • Data entry skill & experience
  • Familiarity with Databases
