📌 Responsibilities

  • Perform Level II QC inspections and monitor field operations for quality compliance.
  • Act as Nonconformance Report Coordinator (NCRC)—track and resolve quality issues.
  • Develop and refine inspection forms, procedures, and checklists.
  • Inspect rebar fabrication, structural steel reinforcement, and anchor bolt installations.
  • Apply expert welding and mechanical inspection practices.
  • Use statistical tools to identify failure trends and drive quality improvements.
  • Support formal project management with quality assurance integration.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)—current or prior qualification.
  • Deep understanding of quality standards and construction codes (ASME, ISO, ANSI, NQA-1, NRC).
  • Expert at interpreting mechanical, electrical, and construction blueprints.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • 12+ years of related experience OR equivalent education/experience combo.
  • Bachelor’s in Engineering, Quality, Industrial Systems, or related field.

💡 Desired Skills

  • 3+ years in DOE QC programs.
  • Apprenticeship certification and/or advanced degrees or certifications.
  • Experience with:
    • Romer/Faro measuring tools
    • Helium leak testing
    • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word), Adobe Acrobat
  • DOE Q Clearance & HRP status (preferred but not required)

🧭 Work Environment

Physical activities include sitting, standing, bending, kneeling, crawling, and climbing. Overtime and non-standard shifts may be required depending on project needs.
