Job Description:
The Radiology Attendant supports Radiographers and/or other Imaging Technologists with basic patient care during the performance or diagnostic radiologic examinations; maintains good radiation safety practices; assists with maintaining supplies and cleaning of rooms; transports to and from requested locations.
- Completes procedure documentation in the EMR as needed, under the supervision of an RT(R).
- Assists the imaging technologist with basic patient care necessary during imaging procedures.
- In collaboration with the imaging technologist, provides appropriate handoff and continuity of care communication to the next caregiver.
- Operates all facility-based computer systems, including EMR & PACS (image management system).
- Transports, transfers and positions patients in a safe and appropriate fashion.
- Participates in radiation safety and quality assurance activities as related to patient care within the Imaging Department.
