Inventory Buyer - Pharmacy - Full Time Day

Job Description:

The Inventory Buyer is responsible for processing orders for hospital supplies and equipment while focusing on cost containment strategies. Processes returns and recalls as needed. Responsible for managing and sourcing alternative products during shortages.

• Places and processes orders for needed supplies from appropriate wholesalers or vendors.
• Manages inventory of supplies as needed.
• Coordinates corrective action when problems are identified: i.e., shortages, recalls, invoice concerns, etc.
• Assists manager in utilization of contracts and cost containment initiatives.
• Organizes and maintains vendor files.

Job Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required.
• Minimum of 3 years buyer experience preferred.
• Experience and working knowledge with related computer programs preferred.
• Strong organization, prioritization, and accuracy skills required. Excellent communication and human relations skills required.

Exerting 50-100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10-20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand required requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work.
