About the Utah Olympic Park

About the role 

The Ski Lift Operations Supervisor oversees daily lift operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with regulations. This role includes supervising staff, managing schedules, and maintaining high standards of guest service. The Supervisor also supports the Lift Operations Manager with administrative tasks, coordinates lift area setup and collaborates with other departments to ensure smooth mountain operations. 

 

Major Tasks and Responsibilities 

  • Support in hiring, scheduling, training, certifying, disciplining, and reviewing Lift Operations staff, while maintaining a safe and professional environment through regular safety meetings. 

  • Ensure superior guest service during all interactions, resolve customer issues, and maintain a courteous and professional demeanor among all staff members. 

  • Assist the Lift Operations Manager in managing the lift operations budget, staffing, payroll expenses, and purchasing necessary equipment and repair items within budget guidelines. 

  • Conduct seasonal operator certification, uphold safety protocols, and communicate operational changes to relevant departments to ensure the safety of athletes, guests, and staff at all times. 

  • Oversee setup and removal of fencing, signage, and event materials, maintain smooth lift ramps, and coordinate with other departments for grooming and event support activities. 

  • Complete all required in-house training. 

  • All other job responsibilities as assigned. 

 

Candidate Knowledge and Essential Skills 

  • Proven supervisory experience. 

  • Ability to perform strenuous activities, including shovelling, and lifting, outdoors in extreme temperatures. 

  • 5+ years of lift operations or maintenance experience. 

  • Knowledge of radio protocol. 

  • Excellent oral communication. 

  • Knowledge of general mechanical skills. 

  • Superior Customer Service skills. 

  • Must have experience operating both trucks and snowmobiles. 

  • Safety conscious person, ensuring the safety of athletes, guests, and employees. 

 

Minimum Qualifications 

  • A valid Driver’s license. 

  • Minimum 18 years of age. 

  • Able to work varied hours including evenings and weekends based on operational schedules. 

  • Ability to work outdoors in all temperature/weather extremes Excellent oral communication. 

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds. 

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. 

  • Hearing – to converse with others in a normal conversation. 

  • Balancing, bending, climbing, kneeling, walking, pushing, reaching above shoulders, and sitting.
