About Soldier Hollow 

Soldier Hollow Nordic Center is home to a state-of-the-art biathlon range that was used for the Salt Lake 2002 Winter Olympic Games. The facility also features a 31-kilometer trail system for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in the winter, as well as mountain biking and hiking in the summer. It is a dynamic multi-use facility focused on developing and growing participation in winter sports in Utah. As a part of the Utah Olympic Legacy Foundation, our mission is to cultivate champions in sport and in life, deliver experiences that inspire communities, and celebrate our Olympic Legacy for years to come. 

About the role 

Fantastic winter environment, working in small staff groups in an inspiring mountain setting.  Often physical work while in constant contact with guests.  Must be enthusiastic, energetic, and willing to learn.  You will be required to work in snow and cold temperatures.  

 

Major Tasks and Responsibilities 

  • Operate winter tubing and offer instruction.  Check tickets. 

  • Maintain guest and employee safety as a top priority and follow all safety protocols and procedures. 

  • Effectively and clearly explain tubing instructions to participants, ability to enforce safety rules. 

  • Act in a courteous, fun, service-oriented manner.  Be positive and willing to engage guests. 

  • Follow and enforce rules established by the venue. 

  • Wear Soldier Hollow uniform and be well groomed and neat at all times. 

  • Complete all required in-house training. 

  • All other job responsibilities as assigned. 

 

Candidate requirements 

  • Must be at least 16 years of age. 

  • Must be able to instruct, speaking to groups and individuals.  Ability to do this with kids, adults, and families. 

  • Establish customer service skills with friendly outgoing communication style. 

  • Basic skills working with groups and ability to facilitate small group activity. 

  • Must be flexible about work assignments and maintain a good attitude. 

  • Flexible work schedule – must be available to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays. 

  • Ability to work outdoors in all temperature/weather extremes, especially in snow and cold temperatures. 

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. 

  • Hearing - to converse with other is a normal conversation. 

  • Balancing, bending, climbing, kneeling, walking, pushing, reaching above shoulders, and sitting.
