About the Utah Olympic Park 

Built for the Salt Lake 2002 Olympic Winter Games, the Utah Olympic Park is a dynamic multi-use facility with Nordic ski jumps, sliding tracks, a 2002 Winter Games museum, and a multitude of adventure activities.  As a part of the Utah Olympic Legacy Foundation, our mission is to cultivate champions in sport and in life, deliver experiences that inspire communities, and celebrate our Olympic legacy for generations to come.  

About the role 

As a part of the Mountain Operations team, you will be responsible for assisting with all aspects associated with mountain operations and sport user groups, snowmaking & grooming, safety, snow retention, hill preparation, maintenance, repairs, and event setup and teardown summer and winter. 

Major Tasks and Responsibilities 

  • Assists with daily maintenance, grooming, fencing, and safety for mountain operations to ensure they meet National and International technical standards and expectations of UOP and user group’s summer and winter. 

  • Assist in completing daily venue maintenance logs. 

  • Assist UOP and volunteer staff in the preparation and proper operation of mountain operation facilities and equipment both in all seasons. 

  • Snowmaking operations and logistics which includes possible night snow making team, set-up, tear down, maintenance of all types of snow guns and associated system. Understanding snowmaking systems including water and high voltage electricity. 

  • Help keep UOP property including grounds, buildings, machines, and vehicles clean and organized. 

  • Assist Mountain Adventures, Lift operations, medical services, as a 1 Team member when appropriate. 

  • Assist with other UOP operations when requested by manager and or supervisor when appropriate. 

  • Complete all required in-house training. 

  • All other job responsibilities as assigned. 

Candidate Requirements 

  • Ability to ski at Advanced level. 

  • Willing to work extended hours during major events. 

  • Knowledge of basic radio protocol. 

  • Excellent written and oral communication. 

  • Ability to work with all user groups and employees in a friendly and accommodating manner. 

  • A valid Driver’s License 

  • Minimum 18 years of age 

  • Flexible work schedule – must be available to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. 

  • Ability to work outdoors in all temperature/weather extremes. 

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds. 

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. 

  • Hearing – to converse with others in a normal conversation. 

  • Balancing, bending, climbing, kneeling, walking, pushing, reaching above shoulders, and sitting 

  • Complete all onboarding training
