GENERAL PURPOSE
We are looking for an enthusiastic Social Media Intern to join our team. The Intern will collaborate with our team to execute social media strategies and campaigns to enhance our online presence and engage our target audience. The internship will provide the incumbent with experience in a professional environment and will play an important role in the growth of our marketing, business development, and community impact initiatives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with the Marketing team to align social media efforts with broader marketing goals and campaigns.
- Assists with graphic design and development of marketing collateral to include campaign materials, brochures, direct mail pieces, emails, and various marketing items.
- Develop, shoot, and edit original video content tailored for YouTube, including educational, promotional, and behind-the-scenes content.
- Collaborate with marketing and subject matter experts to plan video concepts that align with brand messaging and goals.
- Manage all aspects of video production, including scripting, storyboarding, lighting, audio, and post-production.
- Optimize videos for YouTube through effective titling, descriptions, tags, and thumbnails to maximize visibility and engagement.
- Maintains social media accounts/online presence and continuously monitors all sites. Posts and schedules relevant content while ensuring consistency of message across the multiple networks. Tracks metrics and influence measurement. Research new channels for relevance/trends. Social media platforms include, but are not limited to:

- Instagram
- LinkedIn
- TikTok
- Monitor social media channels, respond to comments, messages, and engage with followers to build a strong sense of online community.
- Implement and maintain effective hashtag and keywork strategies to increase discoverability and engagement.
- Coordinates the marketing calendar with marketing/business development activities.
- Assists with conducting market research and recommends improvements for products and services. Includes research of potential business partnerships and opportunities.
- Assists with coordinating community outreach and philanthropic activities.
- Supports marketing/business development team in daily administrative tasks.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
- Adheres to all service standards as outlined in the credit union’s policies and procedures and protects the organization's value by keeping information confidential.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, Tik Tok, , etc...
- Basic graphic design and video creation skills (knowledge of tools like Canva or Adobe Creative Suite is a plus).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with social media analytics and reporting.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
EDUCATION AND FORMAL TRAINING
High school diploma or equivalent training/experience.
Currently pursuing, interested in pursuing, or recently graduated with a degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, or a related field is preferred.
EXPERIENCE
Prior work experience in a professional setting preferred.
