Job Description 

The Production Manager is responsible for all areas of production at the Lexington Campus. This position will work closely with the Director of Media & Technology, Campus Pastor, Worship Team, Creative Team, and Ministry Leaders to execute all events and experiences.  

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Use existing guidelines to oversee the in-person Sunday Worship Experience, including live audio, video production, lyric and media display, lighting, backline, and stage design. 

  • Work to ensure that all A/V needs are being met for Sunday services, rehearsals, KidsTown events, Student Ministry events, and additional special events or rentals that happen at the Lexington campus. 

  • Oversee the preparation of any Sunday Worship Experience elements, including graphics, videos, song lyrics, slide decks, etc.  

  • Manage and support Tech Team volunteers, with an emphasis on mentorship and coaching for events and services.  

  • Use skills in troubleshooting and problem-solving to support the technology needs for the Sanctuary, Courtyard, Large Group Room, Classrooms & Multipurpose spaces, as needed. 

  • Provide proactive tech support, understanding the needs and technical options necessary to enhance the Sunday Worship Experience through technology.  

  • Use existing guidelines to oversee the broadcasted livestream of the Sunday Worship Experience, including live audio, video production, lyric and text overlays, slide decks, etc. 

  • Understand and troubleshoot equipment relating to the broadcast, including Blackmagic video distribution, conversion, video switching, camera control, and video production equipment, to provide smooth transitions between worship segments and produce a modern, attractive, and disruption-free livestream of the Sunday Worship Experience. 

 

Additional Responsibilities 

  • Operates, maintains and safeguards the technical assets of the church, including supervising the use of lighting, sound, video and lighting systems, and communications equipment. 

  • Recruit, train, oversee, and organize volunteers and staff into production teams, including the building of teams for events and Sunday Worship Experiences. 

  • Maintain inventory of equipment and request any specialized equipment needed. 

  • Assist in the production of All Staff Meetings, Weekly Staff Chapels, and other miscellaneous staff events throughout the week.

Professional Qualifications: 

  • 4+ years proven leadership ability in the area of live production. 

  • Experience installing and upgrading AVL equipment in a live production venue. 

  • Proven experience in troubleshooting AVL equipment and repairing systems. 

  • Proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary projects and navigate complex challenges. 

  • Ability to work well under pressure in time-sensitive situations and maintain coordinated efforts with a large team of staff and volunteers. 

  • Proven excellence in mixing live audio and experience with Allen & Heath Audio systems. 

  • Strong time management skills including the ability to multi-task on various projects and priorities under fixed schedules and in high-pressure situations 

  • Experience working in a large church or campus-based church setting, preferred 

  • Familiarity with all levels of video production (pre-production, live production, post-production, camera operation, editing, sound design, color correction) a plus
