As Grace Chapel continues to find new approaches to growth and engagement, growing in number of campuses while increasing the footprint of our digital ministry, we are seeking to fill a Social Media Specialist position. This role is Part-time (up to 20 hours per week) and will report to the Director of Strategic Marketing & Communications. This individual will be responsible for producing and publishing a range of content across social media and other digital platforms while formulating content strategies in conjunction with the Director of Marketing.  They will work alongside other ministries within the church to advise and support our campus and ministry teams, which include both staff and volunteers, in how to leverage content for growth. 

 

This person will find creative ways of building an online presence while using analytics to inform content strategy. This person is a talented copywriter who understands how to maintain a consistent and natural brand voice, and has excellent verbal, visual, and written storytelling/communication skills. This individual is a highly skilled modern marketer who understands branding, content development, marketing, and design. 

  

   

The Role Will:  

  • Support day-to-day social media operations including content planning, creative execution, social listening and reporting.  

  • Responsible for content development across all social channels 

  • Define and supports best practices on all social media platforms 

  • Support campus social media teams with content and guidance 

  • Work with Campus, Digital, and Central Ministry teams regularly to source content to share across blogs, social, app, website, and other channels.  

  • Recruit/work with volunteer teams to help support marketing activities (photographers, copywriters, social media, marketing event managers, etc.).  

  • Work with the Marketing team to create and maintain a vibrant and engaging web presence that help new visitors engage with Grace Chapel.  

  • In coordination with the Director of Marketing, develop, implement and manage social media strategies. 

  • Generate content that is informative, on brand, and engaging for regular, weekly communication channels, including but not limited to social media, in-service announcements, app, website, etc.   

  • up to date with the latest social media best practices and technologies 

  • Establish and maintain an editorial calendar to manage content and plan specific, timely campaigns 

  • Establish employee social media training, best practices, and engagement initiatives 

  • Utilize best practices in SEO to generate content that drives inbound traffic and engagement. 

  

Qualifications

What you bring:   

  

  • Bachelors Degree in Communications, Marketing or related field of study 

  • 1+ years of demonstrated experience with social media marketing 

  • A growing relationship with Jesus Christ.  

  • Fluent in content management systems, email marketing systems, and other digital tools to build successful marketing campaigns.  

  • Organized, a self-starter, and highly relational. 

  • Organizational skills: Strong organizational and project management skills; highly pro-active and comfortable managing multiple projects and deadlines. Ability to maintain high productivity amidst competing priorities and tight deadlines.   

  • Technical understanding of marketing systems, including website CMS, email marketing, social media, and app. Ability to learn new systems and provide training and support in those systems to our staff.  

  • Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills. Experience with SEO and SEM. Ability to create content that aligns with the Grace Chapel brand voice.   

  • Team-Oriented: A gifted and energetic collaborator who can engage with staff and volunteers through the planning and execution phases of communication projects. Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.   

  • Computer Skills: Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Office applications, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), and website content management tools. Ability to quickly learn new tools, platforms, and systems.
