Position: Development and Test Lab Technician

Reports to: Testing and Development Manager
Position Summary: Development and Test Lab Technician is responsible for working closely with Development Engineers and Scientists to design and run experiments, analyze data, and report results. This includes but is not limited to, completing sample preparation and performing analytical tests on various electrolyzer materials, chemicals and components; maintaining, calibrating, and operating various analytical test instruments and electrolyzer test equipment; developing analytical test methods and maintaining associated test and operating procedures; and assembling and testing electrolyzer cells and completing postmortem activities.
Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time, in-person position. Days and hours of the work are Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm. Occasional evenings and weekends may be required.
Essential Functions of the Position:
- Execute experiments, collect data, and ensure tests are carried out accurately and on schedule.
- Assemble electrolyzer cells and other test articles in accordance with established specifications and guidelines.
- Install and monitor test articles in test stations or other experimental apparatus to guarantee proper functionality.
- Record, analyze, and report test results in a timely manner.
- Report results in an extremely clear and concise manner to development engineers and leadership.
- Address questions or concerns related to test results as needed.
- Clean and maintain testing equipment, including the recalibration of devices as required.
- Manage equipment records and maintain work logs.
- Develop and maintain testing procedures to guarantee accurate and consistent results.
- Collaborate with research and development teams to identify new testing needs and opportunities.
- Continuously improve test capability and procedures to increase lab capability and efficiency.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technical and scientific advancements in your field.
