JOB SUMMARY:
The Inventory Specialist oversees the electronically identifying, verifying, and transacting of all products produced by various departments. Responsible for investigating, identifying, and correcting the causes of any discrepancies between inventory system records and physical cycle counts. Responsible for computer system update transactions that account for all physical movement, consumption, and inventory production. Ensuring that all products moved are correctly identified and quantified. Responsible for the biological activity of all transacted products to designated locations. In addition, some essential quality control will be required. Â
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provides accountability for the Las Vegas plant Inventory & Transactions team.
- Oversee inventory (physically and systematically) for operations.
- Liaison with IT on the use of ERP modules and inventory flow accuracy and efficiency.
- Monitor and maintain procedures and processes for valuing the year-end physical inventory; ensure the highest degree of inventory accuracy through the inventory system.
- Recommend the write-off of obsolescent and damaged inventory; ensure a realistic valuation of goods on hand.
- Determine the root cause of discrepancies and follow through to final resolution, including corrective measures to ensure the reason is not repeated.
- Manage and maintain systems and databases supporting the inventory management function.
- Manage the storage of materials and products.
- Assist with the physical inventory of the plant.
- Daily documentation and reporting of inventory levels, material receipts, and material transfers.
- Confer that 5s standards and good housekeeping are being met with the highest standards.
- Set a positive example for all employees to emulate.
- All other duties as may be assigned.
ABILITY TO/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
- Must understand and follow all departmental safety rules.
- Understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Have or obtain a forklift license.
- ISO sections about the position.
