The markets served by Channell are Telecommunications, Municipalities, Internet Service Providers, Wireless, Water, Power, and CATV, among others.  Major product lines include a complete line of thermoplastic and metal fabricated enclosures, fiber optic cable connection and management systems, and high-performance below-grade vaults.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Inventory Clerk is responsible for electronically identifying, verifying, and transacting all products produced by various departments. Responsible for investigating, identifying, and correcting the causes of any discrepancies between inventory system records and physical cycle counts. Responsible for computer system update transactions that account for all physical movement, consumption, and inventory production. Ensuring that all products moved are correctly identified and quantified. Responsible for the biological activity of all transacted products to designated locations. In addition, some essential quality control will be required.  


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Reconcile daily production and materials movements to contribute to 98% or greater inventory accuracy
  • Serve as the shop floor key user of ERP and other inventory and production systems
  • Perform inventory cycle counts daily and report data to the material control department before the end of the shift
  • Performing quality checks on stored inventory and discarding inventory that does not meet the company’s standards
  • Maintaining and updating records
  • Prepare reports on price lists, inventory balance, and shortages
  • Researching the accuracy of product details and testing new products
  • Other tasks as assigned        

KNOWLEDGE OF:

  • Good understanding of inventory control and transactions                                                                          

ABILITY TO/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must understand and follow all departmental safety rules
  • Understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
  • Have or obtain a forklift license
  • ISO sections about the position

EQUIPMENT USED:

  • RF Scanner
  • Forklift
  • Bar coding equipment

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Have at least one year of experience working in a warehouse, manufacturing, or production facility
  • Have at least one year of forklift experience and forklift certification
  • Logistics or supply chain background preferred
  • Must be able to speak, read/comprehend and write in English
  • Ability to lift to 50 pounds
  • Capacity to work overtime as needed
  • Excellent computer skills with the aptitude to learn complex ERP and other systems (Oracle)
  • Prior SAP or Oracle experience preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Knowledgeable in manufacturing bills of materials and packaging specifications
  • Must be a team player and take direction well
  • Good vision (this can be accomplished with corrective lenses), central and peripheral vision in both eyes to detect objects or movement in the field of view.

Physical Demands:  Standing, sitting, walking, use of central and peripheral vision, and hearing (up to continuously); speaking/verbal communication, bend/stoop, twist neck and torso (frequently); reach, hold, grasp, push, pull, lift/carry raw material, finished product, tools and machinery up to 50 pounds (frequently)

Working Conditions:  Work indoors and outdoors; exposure to temperatures commensurate with outdoor seasonal temperatures.
