JOB SUMMARY:

The Rotational Molding Operator is responsible for ensuring that all molds/spiders in production are properly handled, inspected and spun prior to each molding cycle, and operating the rotational molding arms, molds/spiders and crane in a safe manner. Responsible for ensuring that all production parts are inspected, cleaned, and trimmed before part goes on the fixture. Running the CNC machine on a safe and standard cycle time. Following work orders and specification sheets to ensure proper cuts. Ensuring paperwork is properly filled out and turned in. Responsible for proper operation of reduction engineering pulverizer, Kelly Duplex and Heinschel blenders and all ancillary loading, blowing, vacuum, cooling, weighing and test equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Clear, effective oral and written communication
  • Safely operate cranes, molds/spiders, machinery, and hand/power tools
  • Wear required safety equipment/PPE
  • Observe and enforce manufacturing safety practices
  • Perform operator-level safety inspections; report issues to department lead and/or shift supervisor
  • Perform area clean up as needed
  • Report all accidents or near misses to department lead and/or shift supervisor
  • Lift, pull, push up to 30 / 50 pounds
  • Be able to identify product part numbers and descriptions
  • Safely turning on and off the CNC machines
  • Operate the CNC machines, including cycle start, cycle stop, machine jog.
  • Work over-time as needed

KNOWLEDGE OF:

  • Experience with CNC machines; programming, troubleshooting and operation
  • Good mechanical skills, use of hand/power tools
  • Good understanding of quality and safety practices

ABILITY TO/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

  • Understanding Rotational Molding equipment processes
  • Perform equipment emergency stops
  • Understanding arm balancing and verifying of load
  • Proper use and inspection of mold, spider and spider lifting chains
  • Understanding use and application of mold releasing procedures
  • Understanding vent tube application and maintenance
  • Proper use of overhead crane
  • Proper handling and inspection of molded parts
  • Safely operate bandsaws and hand-held tools, trimmers and drill presses
  • Must understand and follow all departmental safety rules
  • Proper use of all safety equipment: safety glasses, safety belt, harness, and hard hat
  • Able to locate cavity numbers
  • Perform equipment emergency stops
  • Understand BOMs, spec sheets, production schedules, and move tickets
  • Perform product changeovers including fixture changes, and program changes
  • Understanding part to part variations (size variations) and their effect at the CNC machine
  • Understanding temperature changes and their effect on parts at the CNC machine
  • Understanding the safety mat operation
  • Understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
  • ISO sections pertaining to the position

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Submit to background check, pre-employment drug screen
  • Pass work physical and lift test
  • High School graduate or GED equivalent
  • Must be able to speak, read/comprehend and write in English

Physical Demands: Standing and walking (up to continuously); bend/stoop, twist neck and torso (frequently); reach, hold, grasp, push, pull, lift/carry raw material, finished product, tools and machinery up to 30 / 50 pounds (frequently); use seeing, hearing and speaking.

Working Conditions: Work indoors and outdoors; exposure to temperatures commensurate with outdoor seasonal temperatures.
