GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The CAN Coordinator is a full-time position within the Philadelphia Department of Public Health, Division of Maternal, Child, and Family Health. The Community Action Network (CAN) is a broad coalition of stakeholders focused on reducing infant mortality in Philadelphia through a collective impact approach. The Division of Maternal, Child, and Family Health is the backbone entity of the CAN, and the CAN Coordinator is responsible for independently coordinating, planning, and helping to implement logistics related to the CAN and CAN-developed initiatives. The CAN consists of a steering committee, a community group, and work groups which are focused on evidence-based strategies to reduce infant mortality. This position requires demonstrated organizational and project management skills, the ability to work with community members and other community stakeholders with strong verbal and written communications skills. This position works to support the CAN Manager and may include other duties and responsibilities not specified.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Specific responsibilities
Project Management
- Independently coordinate, plan, and manage logistics related to the CAN including three CAN work groups, a community group, and a steering committee.
- Coordinate and plan in-person stakeholder meetings
- Track attendance and engagement of individual CAN stakeholders to inform strategic recruitment and outreach
- Collaborate with the collective impact consultants and work group co-chairs to plan agendas and facilitate monthly work group and community group meetings
- Provide project management support and accountability for initiatives developed by the CAN work groups
- Recruit and manage relationships of CAN members in order to ensure group cohesion in achieving the CAN’s mission
Lived Experience Expert Relationship Management
- Engage and retain community lived experience experts as part of the CAN and ensure that contributions of community members are valued, respected, and integrated into the CAN activities
- Work closely with Strategy Arts to ensure reimbursement and payment of lived experience experts
- Help implement and carry out governance principles, strategy and vision established by CAN Manager for involvement and growth opportunities of LEEs
External Communications
- Update website as needed
- Write and disseminate regular CAN newsletter
- Other relevant duties as assigned
