Glenwood is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support kindergarten students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). You will be part of a collaborative, interdisciplinary team working closely with Behavior Analysts, Speech-Language Pathologists, and Occupational Therapists. We offer extensive daily support, including training to become a Registered Behavior Technician (if desired), and guidance in implementing behavior support plans, individualized education plans, and classroom-wide interventions to enhance communication, academic, and social skills, while fostering student independence.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Provide individualized and group instruction to young children with ASD, tailoring lessons to small groups, large groups, and one-on-one instruction. Teacher will also plan, adapt, and/or modify curriculum to promote intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth.
- Design and implement specialized learning activities and experiences to meet the unique needs of our students.
- Collaborate with the clinical team (BCBA/ OT/ SLP).
- Assess and monitor student progress through performance data, test scores, and behavioral observations.
- Develop and implement IEPs addressing specific academic, functional, behavioral, and speech needs of students.
- Collaborate and provide guidance to Behavior Teacher Assistants.
- Maintain regular contact with parents to discuss student progress and development.
- Prepare report cards, educational records, classroom observation records, and other required documentation.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Experience working with special education students, preferably children with ASD.
- Experience with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), preferred.
- Ability to adapt curriculum and instruction for children with exceptionalities.
- Ability to instruct children and manage behavior.
- Strong organizational, communication, and people skills.
- Knowledge of the special education process and Individual Education Plan goal setting, implementation, and documentation.
