Speech Language Pathologist- Allan Cott

Glenwood, Inc. is a progressive multi-site agency that provides a full range of services for children and adults with autism and other mental health needs. We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as an experienced and certified Speech Language Pathologist at our Allan Cott School.  The Speech Therapist will work predominantly with children with ASD and other language disorders. Excellent communication skills are required to work with other professionals, including teachers, occupational therapists, and behavior analyst staff.  Glenwood’s Allan Cott School provides comprehensive ABA services to children ages 6 – 21. The ideal candidate will be familiar with a variety of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) modalities. 


RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Assess and identify specific speech, language, and/or communication needs for the development of the treatment plan, establish a baseline of the child’s present skills for judging future progress, and plan and conduct treatment sessions.   
  • Work with a multidisciplinary treatment team to consult and share information with staff and parents regarding overall language and communication programming.  
  • Collaborate with the educational team to ensure Individualized Education Plan (IEP) requirements are established and maintained.
  • Work with Local Education Agencies, insurance providers, and other funding sources to procure and maintain Augmentative and Alternative Communication devices.
  • Document service hours in the agency’s electronic health record and maintain clinical documentation to meet best practice standards.
  • Work collaboratively with agency professionals to ensure that individuals served on assigned caseloads are provided the highest quality therapy services available
  • Complies with the Code of Ethics and demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all clients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.
  • Fulfills professional development requirements and other assignments

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Experience working in special education with populations with autism, emotional disturbances, developmental disabilities, and mental health-related behaviors.
  • Experience in pediatric feeding preferred.


EDUCATION/LICENSING/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree and certification in Speech-Language Pathology
  • CCC-SLP required
  • Current AL driver’s license must be insurable through Glenwood’s contracting insurer.
  • Certification in agency-provided training in 1st Aid, CPR, and MCS (Managing Crisis Safely)


ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: All background and pre-hire screenings must be clear.
