ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for the overall administration of all benefit plans including group health, dental, vision, supplementary coverage, H.S.A./FSA, and 401K plans.
  • Administer employee benefits programs as well as assist with benefits enrollment, plan changes, and benefit related claims.
  • Conduct benefits orientations to explain benefits options and enrollment systems.
  • Prepare and distribute benefits enrollment materials.
  • Document administrative procedures for benefit enrollment.
  • Prepare, schedule, and facilitate benefits meetings.
  • Serve as primary contact with carriers and third-party administrators.
  • Respond to employee benefit inquiries regarding status changes, plan provisions, and other general benefit questions.
  • Monitor benefits eligibility for part time employees to ensure compliance and timely offering of benefits.
  • Manage the ACA Compliance dashboard in HRIS system.
  • Reconcile bills by producing and balancing reports to ensure accuracy of billing. 
  • Oversee maintenance of employee benefit files, maintain group benefits database, and update employee records.
  • Serve as lead resource for input, maintenance, and quality checks of benefits in HRIS system.
  • Compile a variety of reports to get maximum utilization of the HRIS system including compliance reports and any ad hoc reports.
  • Enter and ensure the accuracy of all benefits information in the HRIS.
  • Partner with human resources and management teams to facilitate teamwork to collaboratively accomplish organizational goals.
  • Demonstrate commitment and dedication to providing employee benefit support and guidance in the development and deployment of initiatives designed to solve problems and make lives easier.
  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date strategic planning manual with continuity BUS plan and goals.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
  • TRAINING EXPECTATIONS:

    Associates in this role are expected, as a condition of employment, to complete all training assigned within a reasonable time period, generally within less than 15 days.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

    This is not a supervisory position. This position does not have the authority to hire, fire, discipline, discharge, assign overtime, and/or direct and assign work, with the ability to effectively recommend any of these actions. This role does serve as a coach and mentor for other employees.

     

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    This job operates in a hybrid or clerical remote office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

     

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.

     

    POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:

    This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

     

    TRAVEL:

    This position rarely requires travel.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in field applying for or the equivalent experience required.
  • 3-7 years of related experience required.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations filing and compliance requirements and other laws affecting benefit programs including ACA, ERISA, FMLA, COBRA, ADA, Section 125, workers’ compensation, Medicare and Social Security and DOL requirements.
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Applications i.e., Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, is strongly preferred.
  • Attention to detail and organization skills required.
  • Good independent judgment, prioritization, and multi-tasking skills required.
  • Ability to work independently with initiative is required.
