Description

The Agronomist is a support-focused role, working closely with our licensed Crop Advisers and Head Agronomist. This position involves problem-solving, public speaking, data management, software support, document preparation, document management, and trial support that helps inform agronomic recommendations, training, and regulatory compliance. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to grow their career in agronomy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Meet with Crop Advisers at grower fields to provide advice and guidance for pest, weed, and disease pressures as well as nutrient deficiencies.
  • Prepare and submit INMP documentation to various water coalitions under the direction of the Head Agronomist.
  • Support proprietary software that manages soil, tissue, and water samples to aid in agronomic recommendations.
  • Assist Crop Advisers with preparing reports, documentation, and crop plan support materials.
  • Participate in establishing and monitoring trial plots, gathering data for product and program evaluation.
  • Maintain accurate field records and share findings with the CA team for analysis.
  • Stay current on regional crop conditions and agronomic practices to support CA recommendations.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Plant Science, Crop Science, or related field (or equivalent hands-on experience).
  • 3+ years of experience in agronomy, crop scouting, or agricultural research preferred.
  • PCA License. CCA Certification preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of crop production systems, soils, and pest management concepts.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills for reporting and working with Crop Advisers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or agricultural software tools.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying field conditions.
  • Valid driver’s license; ability to travel within the Central Valley region.
