Interested in joining our team of dedicated professionals? Way Finders is currently seeking a Senior Vice President, Fiscal Services. The SVP supports our mission by overseeing the financial operations of the organization, ensuring fiscal integrity, compliance, and strategic financial planning through dynamic leadership of a skilled team. This role provides direct oversight of accounting, budgeting, and financial compliance functions to maintain effective financial policies and practices.
Way Finders is exclusively working with Fio Partners to fill this important role in our organization. Qualified candidates will be contacted by a representative of Fio Partners.
The candidate may work in a hybrid-remote capacity but must live within commutable distance. ~3 days per week are required onsite with some flexibility both allowed and expected.
Responsibilities include:
Strategic Financial Oversight
• Develop, implement, and monitor financial strategies that align with the organization’s mission and long-term sustainability
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, internal policies, and external reporting requirements
• Support the Chief Financial Officer in high-level financial planning and risk assessment
Financial Operations Management
• Direct and oversee financial reporting, accounting, budgeting, and fiscal compliance functions
• Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, reports, and analyses
• Oversee financial audits, working closely with external auditors to ensure compliance
Budgeting & Compliance
• Direct and oversee the development and monitoring of the organization’s budgets
• Ensure all compliance measures are met and that issues are addressed in a timely manner
• Implement financial controls and policies to ensure regulatory compliance and efficient use of funds
Other
• Work closely and proactively with other departments to support financial planning, reporting, and operational efficiency
• Act as a key liaison with funding agencies, financial institutions, and other external stakeholders
• Ensure fiscal transparency and clear communication of financial data to senior leadership and the board
• Proactively identify and inform leadership of any issues that may adversely affect the department or organization
• Stay current on accounting, fiscal services, and financial strategy topics and trends
Supervisory responsibilities include:
• Set effective and achievable training plans for new staff members; evaluate and make process improvements based on feedback
• Evaluate and provide timely feedback to staff on performance-related matters; assess staff members’ strengths and developmental needs; implement performance plans to ensure the development and/or maintenance of necessary skills
• Hire new/replacement staff in an efficient and equitable manner, following recruiting process guidelines
• Provide proper support and mentoring to supervisory-level employees to ensure they manage their team effectively through training, communication/feedback, group and 1:1 meetings, timely evaluations, performance plans as necessary, and efficient and thoughtful hiring
• Direct oversight includes:
o Controller (responsible for financial reporting, audits, and day-to-day accounting operations)
o Vice President, Budgets and Compliance (responsible for budget planning, financial compliance, and grants/contracts management)
• Indirect oversight may include accountants, specialists, and clerks
• NOTE: At this time, there are a total of 10 direct and indirect supervisees
Requirements include:
• 7 years’ senior financial management experience, preferably in the nonprofit sector
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or a closely related field
• CPA or similar financial certification preferred
• Strong leadership, strategic planning, and financial management skills
• Experience overseeing multi-entity consolidations, grant accounting, and compliance with nonprofit financial regulations
• Experience with real estate development and property management accounting is highly preferred
• Proficiency in financial systems (Blackbaud/Financial Edge), Microsoft Office (especially Excel), and financial modeling
• Excellent communication skills across all levels of an organization, including with diverse audiences

Wage starts between $130,000 and $150,000 per year depending on equivalent qualifications. Interested applicants must submit a resume and cover letter; applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
