Position Summary:

We are seeking a hands-on and experienced PFAB Shift Lead to oversee day-to-day operations on the shop floor. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in metal fabrication, proven leadership skills, and the ability to drive efficiency, quality, and safety across the fabrication team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate the daily activities of fabrication team members on the shop floor.
  • Assign tasks to team members based on job priority and schedule.
  • Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
  • Monitor workflow, troubleshoot issues, and implement process improvements as needed.
  • Act as a liaison between management and shop employees, communicating updates and resolving issues promptly.
  • Monitor performance using ERP software daily and weekly.
  • Train, mentor, and support team members in fabrication techniques, safety protocols, and company standards.
  • Conduct quality inspections and ensure products meet technical specifications and customer requirements.
  • Maintain equipment and request maintenance when necessary.
  • Promote and enforce a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
  • Model and promote the company’s core values of Credibility, Accountability, Leadership and Fairness in all interactions, fostering a positive, respectful, and high-performing team culture.
  • Other duties as assigned or as appropriate.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Proficient with common shop equipment (press brakes, shears, lasers, etc.) and safety protocols.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment required.
  • Strong understanding of shop drawings, blueprints, and fabrication methods.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with computers and fabrication-related software, including ERP systems, production tracking tools, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • OSHA certification or safety training preferred.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 70 lbs, and work in a loud, industrial setting.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required.
