The UCA Athletic Coach should have a worldview and vision for athletics in-line with the school’s mission and vision statement. We are seeking a coach who is excited to grow and build the program, is excellent in planning and organizing a season with purpose, and has a strong understanding of the sport and ability to teach and strategize with professionalism and maturity.
General Description: The Athletic Coach is responsible for organizing and executing their sport program at United Christian Academy. He/she is responsible for coaching student athletes in competive playing techniques to prepare them for events and competitions. He/she is to motivate student atheletes to develop an appreciation of the sport. UCA recognizes our mission as integral part of the 5-fold ministry given to the church in Ephesians 4:11-13. As such, UCA coaches serve as ministers to help advance the mission and vision of United Christian Academy.
Reports to: The head coach will report to the Athletic Director. JV and Assistant coaches will collaborate with the head coach to build a school wide program philosophy for the sport.
Grade Levels: 9th - 12th
Work Schedule: Approximately 16 Hours per week from mid-February through May. Must arrive on campus by 3pm
Part 1: Personal and Spiritual Responsibilities

- Shows positive, cheerful attitude with parents, students and staff
- Shows integrity in dealing with confidential information
- Models Sports-like behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards other players, official, and spectators
- Models non-discriminartory practices in all activities.
Part 2: Duties / Responsibilities
- Reinforces a Christ-centered, competitive culture of athletics to coaches, faculty/staff, student -athletes, parents, and those outside of our school
- Prepares and executes practice sessions for the team
- Assess student-athlete’s skills and assigns team positions; chooses team members.
- Provides appropriate, constructive feedback to student-athlete’s
- Evaluates and maintains cleanliness and safety of practice and game facilities
- Effectively communicates schedules and schedule changes to student-athletes, families, coaches, and administrator
- Will work with, and directly under the supervision of the Varsity Head Coach to maintain program growth, consistency, and community
- Partner with coaches of other sports to ensure the growth of all sport programs within the department
- Maintain inventory of equipment and uniforms

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Standing/walking (70%), lifting (20%), climbing (4%), bending (4%), squatting (2%). Must be able to lift 15-75 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work environment includes indoor and outdoor environments, including football field, grass areas and gym. Shared space may be required; moderate to high noise levels commensurate to a gym/outdoor/playground environment.
