Position Requirements:
- Completion of two years of high school, knowledge of general custodial maintenance, and related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate routine information, follow instructions, and learn and follow safety protocols and proper techniques.
- Knowledge of basic housekeeping practices in maintaining building cleanliness in good order.
- Knowledge of proper use and application techniques for cleaning products and equipment.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks in cleaning buildings with minimal supervision.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Must act responsibly and follow all policies and procedures; be punctual, honest, and helpful.
- Ability to uphold the University’s commitment to inclusive excellence in a diverse educational community.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands:
- Continuous walking, standing, stooping, pushing, and pulling. Periods requiring sustained uncomfortable physical positions.
- Ability to lift, carry, and position objects utilizing proper body mechanics and techniques.
- Utilize proper sanitary precautions when handling trash, garbage, and other potential biohazards.
