Job Summary:

The Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEI&B) Coordinator is responsible for fostering a diverse and inclusive environment within GLCAC. This position supports the design, development, and implementation of impactful DEI&B initiatives across the organization. By collaborating with various departments, the coordinator will help cultivate a workplace culture that embraces differences and ensures that DEI&B principles are integrated into every aspect of the employee experience .

Essential Functions/Key Responsibilities:

Program Development and Implementation

• Design and oversee DEI&B strategies tailored to the organization's needs, continually assessing their effectiveness and recommending enhancements.

• Facilitate training on cultural competency, unconscious bias, and inclusive practices, providing ongoing resources for continuous learning.

• Coordinate and analyze annual survey data on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEI&B) to measure progress and identify areas for improvement.

• Develop and implement projects related to DEI&B initiatives, reporting progress to CEO and the management team

Coordination and Support:

• Support the DEI&B Chair and committee by organizing meetings and events that raise awareness, foster employee engagement, and ensure alignment with DEI&B goals

• Write communications related to various holiday or celebration observances, promoting cultural awareness and appreciation

Advocacy and Guidance:

• Serve as an advocate for DEI&B principles, influencing decision-making and promoting policies that enhance workplace inclusivity. Communication and Outreach:

• Develop and share DEI&B communications to inform and engage employees, promoting a culture of belonging and valuing unique contributions.

Skills & Qualifications:

Skills

• Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration and relationship-building across diverse teams.

• Organizational: Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while collaborating across departments.

• Program Development: Experience in program development and execution, with a track record of achieving positive outcomes. (Preferred).

• Cultural Competence: Ability to work effectively with and meet the needs of people from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and identities, including underserved communities and various racial groups, socioeconomic statuses, nationalities, and languages.

Qualifications:

• Education: A bachelor’s degree in Organizational Development, Organizational & Industrial Psychology, Human Services, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.

• Experience: 2 to 4 years of proven experience in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEI&B) or similar roles, demonstrating a commitment to fostering inclusive work environment.

• Knowledge: A deep understanding of DEI&B principles and best practices, with the ability to apply them effectively within the organization

Other:

Supervisory Responsibility:

None. However, the coordinator may provide guidance and support to team members involved in DEI&B initiatives and projects, fostering an inclusive environment and promoting teamwork.

Travel:

Occasional travel may be required for meetings, training sessions, or events related to DEI&B initiatives. This may include local travel within the state as well as potential attendance at conferences or workshops.

Physical Demands:

while performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear. The role may require the ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds, such as training materials or event supplies. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

 This job operates in a professional office environment and uses standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. The role requires adherence to organizational policies and procedures, including those related to safety and confidentiality
