JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY


The Surveillance Manager is responsible for managing employees in the Surveillance Department and is responsible accountable for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of the Surveillance unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Gaming Commissions policies & procedures and applicable laws. Responsibilities include but are not limited to interviewing, hiring, training employees, planning, assigning, directing work, appraising performance, discipline, addressing complaints and resolving problems.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES(other duties may be assigned)

  • Monitors performance of subordinates ensuring adherence to Commission and Tribal Policies and Procedures
  • Oversees the schedules of Surveillance Personnel
  • Responsible for safeguarding all tribal gaming assets. Coordinates efforts as well as an open line of communication with Security Directors, Gaming Agents, and Compliance and Internal Audit Departments
  • Prepares reports as necessary, reviews all reports, maintains files
  • May participate in initial stage of investigations
  • Maintains positive staff/management relations
  • May performs functions of subordinate positions as required
  • Responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining SOPS for the Surveillance Department including training procedures.
  • Other delegated tasks that may be assigned by the Executive Director none

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. An Associate Arts degree in accounting or business is preferred. A minimum of two years related experience in a gaming environment as well as a supervisory position or the equivalent combination of education or experience.
  • Must possess the following:
  • Good English skills, both spoken and written
  • Be able to produce organized and concise reports
  • Knowledge of criminal offenses and regulations concerning tribal and federal gaming licensing requirements and procedures
  • Knowledge about modern methods of surveillance techniques



JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Two Year minimum experience preferred in gaming environment, law enforcement, as well as Supervisory/Training experience.
  • Working knowledge of the current ACGC Surveillance Equipment, and associated computer databases.
  • Knowledge of criminal offenses and regulations concerning tribal and federal gaming licensing requirements and procedures.
  • Must be able to lead by example.
  • The candidate must be able to perform each of the essential duties, in an exemplary manner.
  • Must be able to prioritize responsibilities and assignments with minimal supervision and complete them in a timely manner.
  • Must possess excellent oral, written and communication skills.
  • Must be a great leader by demonstrating initiative and motivation when communicate goals and objectives to supervisors and agents.
  • Must be able to demonstrate Managing the Surveillance Department, along with maintaining interpersonal relationships among all staff while assuming responsibility related to the performance of the Surveillance Department.
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned.
