Job Description Summary

 

Assists Special Events Manager in the creation, development, implementation and execution of all major events for the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians Tribal Government, Agua Caliente Cultural Museum and Tribal Government sponsored Tribal Membership events. Provides additional support as needed to the Tribal Administration team.

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned)

 

  • Work with Special Events Manager with the planning and execution off all ACBCI charitable fund-raising events including The Agua Caliente Charity Golf Tournament, Richard M. Milanovich Legacy Hike, and the Dinner in the Canyons.
  • Assist in the planning and facilitate logistics for all events, including contract negotiations, guest lists, venue preparation, presentation materials, security, catering, entertainment, transportation, equipment, decor, and marketing materials
  • Prepare and disseminate event related information to appropriate departments, vendors, and others in a clear, concise, and timely manner
  • Conduct research, assemble and analyze data to prepare reports and documents
  • Independently perform department level projects as assigned
  • Prepare responses to correspondence containing routine inquiries; prepare and edit correspondence, communications, presentations and other documents
  • Type, proofread and process a variety of documents including general correspondence, reports, letters, memoranda, and invoices; prepare spreadsheets in excel and forms from rough drafts or verbal instruction as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Education and/or Experience

 

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Minimum 1 year entertainment and/or promotional experience and/or training; or combination of education and experience. 
  • Must have excellent organizational and communication skills and have the ability to work with all departments. 
  • Must have exceptional customer relations skills and innovative thinking for the development of promotions and events.
  • Must be able to communicate in English (Spanish a plus.)
  • Must be completely proficient in Microsoft applications including Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Must have excellent grammatical skills.

 

 

Working Conditions/Physical Demands

 

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to stand, move and work throughout the office area and properties, including walking up to 3+ mile, climbing stairs and sitting at a desk/work station for the duration of the shift.  Also may be subjected to a smoke filled environment.

 

Typically the individual will be housed in an office environment.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but will escalate when located in the casino environment.  Must be able to grasp, bend, lift and/or carry or otherwise move goods weighing a minimum of 25 lbs. on an intermittent basis, and sufficient dexterity of hand in order to use office equipment including, but not limited to:  a computer keyboard, calculator, general office equipment and multi-line telephone.
