JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The Sourcing Specialist will work on strategic sourcing activities in spend categories as assigned by the Sourcing Manager. The candidate must possess a strong understanding of sourcing/procurement processes and the ability to leverage company volumes to drive cost savings and to deliver greater overall value. The Sourcing Specialist will also work closely with other team members to successfully launch, implement, manage and track compliance of sourcing programs.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned)

  • Identify cost savings and process efficiency opportunities for the company.
  • Prepare and issue request for proposals (RFP).
  • Identify suppliers capable of successfully providing high quality goods/services outlined in the RFP scope.
  • Manage the bid process.
  • Analyze and summarize bid proposals.
  • Coordinate meetings with internal stakeholders to review proposals, evaluate product samples, and determine supplier selection.
  • Have regular ongoing communication with the supply base to stay current of trends and opportunities that could be beneficial to the company.
  • Ability to identify non-value-added activities and making recommendations for replacing them with more efficient practices.
  • Provide timely and accurate communication to internal customers and company management.
  • Perform other job-related duties as needed.

Qualifications

 EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, hotel administration, business or accounting/finance preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three years of strategic sourcing experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office with emphasis in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Must be able to communicate in English in both oral and written form.
  • Experience with RedRock Software a plus.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to stand, move and work throughout the office area and properties, including walking, climbing stairs and sitting at a desk/workstation for the duration of the shift.

Typically, the individual will be housed in an office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but will escalate when located in the casino environment. Must be able to grasp, bend, lift and/or carry or otherwise move goods weighing a minimum of 30 pounds on an intermittent basis, and sufficient dexterity of hand in order to use office equipment including, but not limited to: a computer keyboard, calculator, general office equipment and multi-line telephone.
