Job Description Summary

General maintenance of hotel casino indoor and outdoor premises. Work with all departments on an as needed basis. Coordinates Engineering activity in the absence of the Engineering Manager.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned)

  • In the absence of the Engineering Manager, receives and reviews all Engineering request forms to decide problem and resolution and delegates in the absence of the Engineering Manager.  
  • Responsible for timely repairs, maintenance, installation of HVAC, Chillers, Boilers, Pumps, Cooling towers, and related piping.
  • Responsible for meters, gauges, and other testing equipment, and to assure the accurate operation, in order to detect and identify problems and the appropriate path for repairs.
  • Responsible for all timely and accurate documentation of all repairs and PM reports.
  • Monitors and maintains the BMS (building management system) for accurate operation.
  • Works with outside vendors (pertaining specifically to the central plant, and associated equipment) to assure that repairs are carried out in professional and qualified manner.
  • Performs departmental technical projects which include, but not limited to, electrical and mechanical repairs.
  • Performs refrigeration repairs.
  • Performs metal fabrication welding repairs.
  • Performs Plumbing repairs.
  • Performs Electrical repairs.
  • Performs kitchen equipment repairs.
  • Performs Masonry repairs
  • Performs carpentry repairs.
  • Provides excellent guest service to both guest and internal clients.
  • Must adhere to all Tribal Ordinance Regulations, and the ACRM and ACPS systems of internal controls, and standard operating procedures.

Qualifications

Required Education and/or Experience

  • 4 years proven experience as a maintenance technician
  • Must be knowledgeable in current OSHA regulations and safe work environment practices
  • Advance demonstrable skills in one or more trades; electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry, mechanical systems.
  • Proven experience with  general maintenance processes and methods
  • Proven experience and knowledge using tools, standard appliances, and devices

 

Working Conditions/Physical Demands

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to stand, move and work throughout the office area and properties, including walking up to 1 ½ mile, climbing stairs.  Must be able to work in a smoke-filled environment. Must be able to work in a “lighting subdued” environment for extended periods of time. Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions to include extreme heat and cold weather. 

 

Typically, the individual will be housed in an office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but will escalate when located in the casino environment.  Must be able to grasp, bend, lift and/or carry or otherwise move goods weighing a minimum of 25 lbs. on an intermittent basis, and sufficient dexterity of hand in order to use office equipment including, but not limited to: a computer keyboard, calculator, general office equipment and multi-line telephone.
