Description

Compensation: $84,000 - $120,000/year, Including commissions based on profit of the fab shop managed by the Project Manager.

Summary:

The focus of the Fabrication Project Manager is to manage the daily overall operation and lead assigned personnel to successfully complete fabrication orders while demonstrating ACME Construction Supply’s Vision and Values.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Project Coordination:

  • Maintain Prefab Project work flow, deadlines and work flow via written, verbal & Monday’s based management;
  • Reviews plan center websites and customer bidding lists to generate leads and maintain project database;
  • Communicates with regional sales managers to coordinate project sales strategies;
  • Attends all company sales meetings to discuss projects and marketing strategies;
  • Participates in sales and marketing events as facilitated by the Company.

Fab Shop Supervision:

  • Supervises and trains assigned personnel to achieve the daily product receiving, storage, material handling, fabrication, shipping and delivery requirements;
  • Monitors and directs workflow process in the fab shop to ensure orders are completed correctly and on time via Monday.com project management software;
  • Write some Eclipse orders for the fabrication department, including material transfers, customer ship tickets, purchase orders etc.;
  • Resolves customer complaints and disputes in a timely, professional manner;
  • Ensures maintenance of a clean and safe work environment, as well as safety compliance from all assigned employees;
  • Responsible for quality control of all orders from the fab shop;
  • Tracks and accomplishes the necessary maintenance of assigned equipment and vehicles;
  • Responsible for understanding and teaching safe and efficient techniques for all shop equipment e.g. band saws, drill presses, iron workers and grinders;
  • Serves as a backup in the day-to-day team’s responsibilities;
  • Demonstrates good character and acts as a good role model to ensure that the department provides courteous and valuable service to customers and coworkers;
  • Other duties as assigned.
 

Project Estimation:

  • Performs material take offs from plans provided to the fab shop;
  • Prepares bids for customers;
  • Develops and maintains new and existing product and inventory knowledge by participating in all necessary training, including independent study of product features and benefits;
  • Participates in educational opportunities, including those offered by vendors such as Evergreen and/or other resources.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent;
  • Eclipse software experience required;
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite skills;
  • Ability to interact with employees, customers and vendors in a professional manner;
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Good organizational skills;
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills and resourcefulness;
  • Ability to multitask and balance multiple priorities simultaneously;
  • Understanding of safe warehouse practices.

Physical:

  • The employee is regularly required to sit; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel a computer mouse or other computer equipment; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; use hands and arms to reach for, grasp and manipulate objects; stand, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl;
  • May be required to move or traverse considerable distances in the facility during the course of a workday;
  • Must have the physical abilities to perform essential warehouse tasks;
  • Must have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. to a height of 3-4 feet and load product into trucks;
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for an extended period of time;
  • Ability to ascend/descend a ladder to pull or put away product from shelving and racking;
  • Ability to safely operate a dolly, pallet jack and/or forklift in loading and unloading supplies.

 

Working Conditions:

  • Warehouse facility with daily exposure to one or more of the following:
  • Moderate to severe noise level (equipment);
  • Slightly slippery surfaces;
  • Moderate air pollution (dust);
  • Moderate vibration (equipment, tools);
  • Moving objects (forklift).
 
  • Work required both inside and outside of the warehouse, with temperature exposure between 50-100 degrees inside.
