YWCA Greater Los Angeles (YWCA GLA) is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all. YWCA GLA provides direct services, empowerment programming, and advocacy to support marginalized individuals and families, especially women and girls of color, while working to challenge structural barriers to equity.
Objective of Position
To deliver services and activities that addresses violence against women of various ethnic backgrounds and support survivors of sexual assault in their healing process. The program is implemented through activities and objectives designed by the California Office of Emergency Services (CAL OES). Activities and objectives are planned within the scope of the Mission of the YWCA GLA.
The YWCA GLA therapist will provide trauma-informed and survivor-centered clinical services that include assessments, individual, family and group counseling and will engage in crisis intervention services such as engaging in hotline calls and SART accompaniments which include some after-hours/weekend coverage. The therapist will also perform outreach to community and professional organizations to highlight the counseling services available within the Sexual Assault Crisis Services program.
Statement of Duties
- Provides 80% of staff time in direct service activities as defined by position work plan
- Ensures grant objectives and work plans are accomplished
- Provides direct services to clients and the community along with crisis intervention services (hotline calls and SART accompaniment) that will include some after-hours/weekend coverage
- Screens clients through intake to determine eligibility for counseling services
- Oversees, disseminates and maintains cohesiveness of client intakes
- Provides clinically appropriate short-term counseling services to clients
- Evaluates and documents clients' progress and completes clinical records in a timely manner as set forth by Clinical Supervisor
- Identifies, coordinates and provides direct counseling services and outreach efforts in the assigned service area
- Performs in the role of preceptor and provides secondary on-site clinical support to interns including attending preceptor meetings
- Maintains Association, CAL OES and other grant required statistical data and program monthly reports
- Assists in the evaluation of the program, to include but not limited to preparation of written reports and collection and analysis of program statistics
- Interfaces with Bureau of Victim Services to coordinate client access to victim compensation funds
