Mental Health Quality Assurance Specialist
ROLE SUMMARY:
The QA Specialist manages the implementation and documentation, and tracking of compliance for the annual QA/QI Plan. The QA Specialist reports directly to the QA supervisor, within the Quality Management and Compliance (QMC) Department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Develop training materials, implement changes and track documentation compliance for all programs (contract compliance and EHR navigation).
- Coordinate, train, and monitor compliance for various outcomes across the organization.
- Assists in assuring continuing quality mental health records (chart compliance).
- Provide regular documentation and workflow updates pertaining to the QA/QI workplan.
- Conduct regular internal audits and support external audits.
- Complete medical record requests.
- Provide quality support to programs.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required.
- Strong organization, communication and teamwork skills, plus a demonstrated understanding of and commitment to furthering Wellnest’s mission.
- Successful candidates must be knowledgeable of family-centered, consumer-focused work on a strengths-based model.
Preferred:
- Experience in program evaluation, Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health billing & charting requirements, computerized data tracking and providing staff training in a community mental health agency that serves children and families
- Candidate with current, valid registration with the appropriate licensing board and experience in a non-profit mental health clinic or similar setting.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Employee may be asked to pursue additional training when it is determined to be in the best interest of the Company. Employee must have the ability to use a personal vehicle with the required insurance coverage to complete the essential duties of their job and conduct agency business. Employee must maintain a valid California driver’s license and clean driving record that meets Wellnest’s insurance carrier’s criteria for liability coverage. In keeping with Company policy for all employees, the successful applicant must also complete a test for TB, and fingerprint clearance by the Department of Justice.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Employee regularly works in an office environment. Employee may be required to work flexible, evening and/or weekend hours for time-sensitive projects.

- Visual acuity, ability to adjust focus, and peripheral vision for work on a laptop or other computer equipment.
- Lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Able to use telephone, office copier, calculator, fax machine, computer printer and scanner, or other equipment as required.
