POSITION SUMMARY

The Communications Associate assists in planning and implementing integrated communications activities, conducts research and establishes data reports, supports community outreach and events, and coordinates with the marketing design and content for annual campaigns. The associate also monitors social media accounts and digital ads and supports the Vice President of Communications and Public Affairs with administrative tasks.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Under close direction with the VP of Communications & Public Affairs, co-creates and monitors digital marketing campaigns, email marketing, and social media, including establishing analytics
  • Works with the VP of Communications & Public Affairs to assemble campaign assets, media kit folders, create and update the annual Communications calendar on Outlook, plan and strategize timelines for digital and social campaigns
  • Builds and designs videos with graphics for digital marketing and social media, utilizing Canva for graphics, videos, and presentations.
  • Supports with researching DEI holiday and advocacy campaigns, collecting ideas, and establishing data for campaigns
  • Coordinates minor events (in person), creates assignments and schedules, manages vendors and internal staff, outreach and coordination of volunteers, takes photos, and posts on social media.
  • Manages requests from program staff for outreach events, preparing swag and giveaways for staff, and working with vendors to order promotional supplies, including signage and rentals. Wellnest Ambassador Program.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or a related field from an accredited college or university.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:

  • Must possess and maintain a valid CA driver’s license and insurable driving record.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • A strong commitment to advancing Wellnest’s mission.
  • Working knowledge of social media and email outreach platforms
  • Ability to handle several projects simultaneously, create, write, and edit social media posts.
  • Able to use tools like Canva and Hootsuite for content creation and outreach.
  • General knowledge of marketing and branding, ability to manage spreadsheets and create presentations.
  • Demonstrate cultural competence and sensitivity with diverse groups across race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, class, ability, gender, and other identifiers.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize assignments, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational, coordination, problem-solving, and time management skills, including planning and managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining an eye for detail.
  • Working knowledge of email marketing and the digital environment; importing and exporting contact data, creating a content calendar and campaigns that align with DEI holidays, events, and other marketing priorities.
  • Basic knowledge of website principles, SEO, and how these issues affect content and engagement with followers and users of the website.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (i.e., MS Word, Excel, PPT, and Outlook) and ability to adapt to new technology systems and applications.
