Preble Street Health Services Recuperative Care Program (RCP) has 2 open Caseworker positions with 2nd shift schedules. Caseworkers work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and in partnership with Greater Portland Health (GPH) and Maine Medical Center (MMC) staff in an innovative program that partners medical services and social services to offer people experiencing homelessness who have been discharged from hospital care a safe and supportive environment in which to recover.

RCP Caseworkers support clients receiving medical and behavioral health care in their continued recovery by engaging with and providing direct services, maintaining a safe environment, providing staff coverage in the program, and providing comprehensive case management services.

The schedule for this full-time position is Tuesday – Saturday, 3:00 pm – 11:00 pm.

Qualifications

Qualifications include related experience in or relevant to providing direct services to people experiencing homelessness, or a comparable combination of education and relevant experience.


Also required are an understanding of and alignment with Preble Street’s mission, positive regard for individuals accessing services for homelessness and poverty; a commitment to providing low-barrier services; strong communication, de-escalation, and crisis intervention skills; familiarity with community resources; strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain documentation of services; ability to work with and maintain professional boundaries with diverse populations; and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.


COVID-19 Vaccination Status Requirement: The Recuperative Care Program Caseworker is required to have up-to-date COVID-19 vaccination status upon hire and to maintain up-to-date vaccination status for the duration of employment in the Recuperative Care Program.


Compensation and Benefits
The hourly rate of pay for this full-time (40 hours/week) position is $22.45 per hour. As a direct service position in a 24/7 program, this position is eligible for shift differentials of $1.00 per hour for all hours actually worked between the hours of 7:00am and 10:00pm or $2.00 per hour for all hours actually worked between the hours of 10:00 pm and 7:00 am.
