Position: Truck & Trailer Mechanic

Location: Denver, Co

Pay $25 - $36 per hour, depending on experience, certifications held, and qualifications.

Summary: RMS Crane and Rigging Inc. is currently seeking a full-time experienced General Mechanic to help build our branch. The technician will perform preventive maintenance, repairs and inspections on the following: trucks, pickups, trailers, small equipment and other various equipment as necessary. Follows all State and Federal laws while operating motor vehicles. Follows all safety and environmental policies while performing job tasks.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Knowledge of maintaining and repairing Truck & Trailers
  • Performing FMSCA (DOT) Inspections and prepare inspection reports
  • Prepare accurate and complete service reports and turn them in on time
  • Correctly charges work to appropriate work order segments
  • Communicates effectively with Service Writer, Shop Coordinators and Shop Managers to ensure problems, nature of repair, and status of repairs are understood and followed up on
  • Cleans, repairs, reconditions, and maintains equipment and components
  • Removes, disassembles, assembles, and installs components and parts
  • Services and maintains equipment owned by the company
  • Tests measures, and adjusts engine and machine systems and components
  • Diagnoses and troubleshoots machine and engine malfunctions and failures
  • Use safe working practices and follow all company safety requirements
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area
  • Make parts replacement decisions assuring optimum economic reusability
  • Other duties as assigned by manager

 

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2+ Years experience preferred
  • Must pass a drug and a background check
  • A personal set of tools is required.
  • The ability to lift 50+ pounds throughout the day is required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required - Current CDL license with air brake certification preferred
  • A Clean MVR
  • Basic computer skills for data entry into maintenance systems.
  • Regular, predictable, and full attendance is an essential function of the job.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends and out of state when needed.
