RN Specialty, Dr. Rachel Barker, Dermatology, Westgate - Cool Springs

SUMMARY: We are searching for a talented RN or LPN to join our Dermatology office.  The ideal candidate will be comfortable in a clinic setting and able to rapidly learn new skills.  We have an active medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology practice so multitasking is critical. You will manage patients through their appointments and scribe during the physician examination.  This high-paced job requires excellent communication and service-oriented skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Interview patients and document basic medical history
• Scribe during physician examination
• Organize and schedule appointments
• Update and file medical records and insurance reports
• Assist during surgical procedures
• Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes, and forms
• Handle receivable and payable accounts and keep financial records
• Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Licensed Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of TN with at least 1-year experience in a preferably in a clinic or physician office setting (Specialties may include: OB/GYN, Dermatology, Gastroenterology, ENT/Otolaryngology, Rheumatology, Neurology, and Endocrinology etc.)
• Experience using electronic medical/health records
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing RN or LPN program
• Minimum 1 year RN or LPN experience required (medical clinic setting preferred)

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

• Valid unrestricted state of TN RN or LPN license
• Current state license to practice as a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse
• Maintains Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification (CPR) and Advance Cardiac Life Support Certification Required for some specialties

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Physical guidelines include the ability to stand/walk up to eight hours/day; stoop, bend, twist. Assist patients in turning and arising from the exam table. Push wheelchair patients and assist a patient in arising from and returning to a wheelchair. Requires the ability to stand, sit, bend, reach overhead and carry 80 pounds, if necessary

Clinical setting; exposure to communicable disease, medical preparations and other conditions common to a clinical environment.
