Description

As the Paralegal & Loan Manager, you will work with all departments of the company to help facilitate real estate purchases and construction of the subdivisions and hotels, including tracking commercial due diligence. This is a team-oriented position. This position assists all departments in gathering and disbursing information, manages the company’s corporate governance portfolio and documentation to help achieve the company's goal "to create highly successful developments that bring value to the communities in which they are located”.

 

Job Responsibilities:

•             Ability to draft (under supervision of an attorney) and comprehend real estate contracts, along with related amendments.

•             Maintain the company's property spreadsheet and calendar, including tracking due diligence, extension and closing dates.

•             Coordinate all due diligence activities.

•             Assist the legal team, outside counsel and finance department with property closings.

•             Assist Chief Financial Officer & General Counsel with corporate filings and disclosures.

•             Assist and communicate with land directors when needed (filling out forms, answering questions, drafting letters).

•             Conduct legal research when necessary.

•             Help with administrative tasks such as organizing and filing documents and requesting signatures via Dotloop e-signature platform.

•             Manage and maintain the Company’s corporate governance portfolio.

•             Form, dissolve and amend domestic and foreign entities.

•             Work with the Company’s registered agent to ensure all company entities are properly registered and represented.

•             Prepare and file annual reports for applicable entities.

•             Assist lenders, outside counsel and finance team with providing the necessary information and documentation to finance construction loans for subdivisions and hotels.

•             Work with the Company’s outside insurance professionals to ensure all real estate is properly and timely insured; obtain needed performance bonds.

•             Liaison with the Company’s outside management company in the review of homeowners’ requests to ensure appropriate resolution according to subdivision guidelines.

•             All other duties as assigned by the General Counsel & Chief Financial Officer.

Education and Experience:

•             Bachelor’s Degree or 5 years’ experience in related field (Required)

•             Paralegal Certification (Required)

 

Physical Requirements:

•             Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move up to 25 pounds occasionally.

•             Constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a copy machine, and printer.
